| 'YES'AC Feedback |
|

Blazer Riley (1996) a nurse speaker stated, "Consider the two parts of the word 'feed' and 'back'. The word 'feed' means to nourish comfort, or to meet another's needs. 'Back' in this context is to return something to another. In this sense feedback is a gift to nourish another's practice". Casey's takes all feedback seriously and is constantly attempting to improve our services and to empower Living Wellness.

- I had the pleasure of listening to Pat at a special nursing reunion retreat. I was part of an eclectic group of professional, experienced and diverse women who have been known to be critical as well. Pat was a breath of fresh air! Entertaining yet insightful, her talks were sprinkled with humor and reality. As nurses, we are caregivers to not only our patients but to friends and family as well. We are also mothers, wives, daughters, sisters, etc. Pat was able to identify with every person in the room in one way or another. We have obvious differences and life experiences yet she brought us all together as women who actually have many similarities, beliefs, hopes and dreams. As we reflect on that special weekend, I doubt if Pat realizes the impact she had on many of us.

- We were experiencing morale problems in all levels of staff and this was affecting productivity. Pat held focus groups with frontline staff, managers and board members to gain insight and to problem solve in an empowering manner. Pat’s involvement went from reactive and intense to proactive, supportive and educational. She had the ability to connect with all involved and to develop a common vision which reconnected the worksite, increased morale and increased customer service.
- In seeing you work as a consultant, I have seen that the role of the nurse is to not only have excellent clinical skills, but to look at the patient in a multi-dimensional, holistic way and to serve as the patient advocate with the various providers of health care. You show respect for your colleagues in all disciplines and this in turn creates respect for you. You have shown me that nurses can and should take a leadership role in the organization at all levels. Whether a nurse is at the bedside or in the boardroom, you can expect that the ultimate patient or client impact of every decision is the bottom line.
- Pat was a consultant at my place of work. Being involved in Pat’s “focus groups” and then in her workshops has given me a different perspective of myself, my family, my colleagues, my boss and my work.
- Ms. Jurgens exhibited excellent leadership skills with her consulting staff that was very loyal and committed to the company’s goals. Her ability to manage her human resources was very much a team approach where input by all was valued and the service could be used creatively to produce positive outcomes.
