- Excellent! - Excellent presentation - She was so honest and therefore a breath of fresh air - Very informative – Great! - Wonderful, changed my practice - Wow! An “ah-ha” moment.
- I had the pleasure of listening to Pat at a special nursing reunion retreat. I was part of an eclectic group of professional, experienced and diverse women who have been known to be critical as well. Pat was a breath of fresh air! Entertaining yet insightful, her talks were sprinkled with humor and reality. As nurses, we are caregivers to not only our patients but to friends and family as well. We are also mothers, wives, daughters, sisters, etc. Pat was able to identify with every person in the room in one way or another. We have obvious differences and life experiences yet she brought us all together as women who actually have many similarities, beliefs, hopes and dreams. As we reflect on that special weekend, I doubt if Pat realizes the impact she had on many of us.
- The openness of a guest speaker who has “been there”, and realizes under what conditions we sometimes have to work in.
- Unique speaker on untouched territory and unique presentation.
- Enjoyed the entire workshop. Excellent speaker. Humor really added to the presentation.
- It was lively and fast paced. No time to get bored and sleepy. Very informative and to the point.
- Pat, you represent the type of healthcare professional I aspire to be. I will be taking your influence everywhere I work.
- Pat is extremely able to adapt her seminars to participant’s needs and objectives. It seems as if each workshop is “tailor made” to her audience.
- It hit our facility on the head with all the ideas and suggestions.
- Humorous and knowledgeable way of looking at ourselves and how we relate to others at home and work.
- The speaker was able to pick up on and identify what basic problems existed and she cleverly and tactfully suggested what needs to happen in order to promote changes.
- Pat touched a nerve. I didn’t realize how much of her talk was about ME.
- I did not feel the seminar could be improved at all. Was excellent! Made me feel good about myself, others and tomorrow.
- Pat’s sense of humor was great. It felt good to laugh.
- Excellent speaker who can put information to all other areas of life, personal as well as workplace.
- Excellent presentation, she knows her subject well.
- She was absolutely incredible; she left you with the warmest feeling.
- We were experiencing morale problems in all levels of staff and this was affecting productivity. Pat held focus groups with frontline staff, managers and board members to gain insight and to problem solve in an empowering manner. Pat’s involvement went from reactive and intense to proactive, supportive and educational. She had the ability to connect with all involved and to develop a common vision which reconnected the worksite, increased morale and increased customer service.
- In seeing you work as a consultant, I have seen that the role of the nurse is to not only have excellent clinical skills, but to look at the patient in a multi-dimensional, holistic way and to serve as the patient advocate with the various providers of health care. You show respect for your colleagues in all disciplines and this in turn creates respect for you. You have shown me that nurses can and should take a leadership role in the organization at all levels. Whether a nurse is at the bedside or in the boardroom, you can expect that the ultimate patient or client impact of every decision is the bottom line.
- Pat was a consultant at my place of work. Being involved in Pat’s “focus groups” and then in her workshops has given me a different perspective of myself, my family, my colleagues, my boss and my work.
- Ms. Jurgens exhibited excellent leadership skills with her staff that was very loyal and committed to the company’s goals. Her ability to manage her human resources was very much a team approach where input by all was valued and the service could be used creatively to produce positive outcomes.
COMMENTS FROM INDIVIDUALS
- When I first phoned Pat, I didn't know what a wellness therapist was. I had read a newspaper article featuring Pat and a quote caught my eye, "Most people survive, rather than thrive". I was at a place in my life where I was feeling rather flat, not motivated and generally not myself and I couldn't put a "finger on it". I had lost the joy of living and was depressed. I am self-employed and have been for 29 years, yet I no longer enjoyed my work. Pat seemed to have a sense of who I was within a half-hour. I was immediately impressed because I had never opened up and trusted that much. Pat described the Living Wellness Reconstruction model and I was excited. Within two months I was experiencing many successes and positive changes in my life. My passion was alive and ready for action. After each session, I came away with information that made sense and set me back on a course of "thriving". I could not possibly have accomplished this without Pat's intervention and the push that the reconstruction model gave me. Pat, as a Living Wellness Reconstruction coach, is very energizing and intuitive. I recommend her services highly and have the utmost respect for what she does and how she does it.
- Thank you Pat for helping me through a desperate grieving process with gentleness, caring and music. Until I worked with you, I did not understand that wellness and the grieving process went together.
- Recently I met a woman who challenged me to look at my self-image. She suggested that I could choose to focus on being “well” or “unwell”. The rewards of choosing to refocus on my wellness are bringing about a wonder balance in my life.
- Pat has a true devotion to music and continuously advocates it as a nursing intervention. Part of nursing is “making a difference” and it is through people like Pat that these differences are realized.
- Thanks for all the inspiration. You have rekindled my candle and given me the courage to carry on and light or rekindle others.
COMMENTS FROM COUPLES
- We had accepted our relationship as normal and acceptable. We were not fighting and we adored our grown children. Through Pat’s program, we learned to celebrate each other, our stage of life and our gift of life. We are now truly a couple living wellness. Hopefully we can pass this gift onto our adult children.
- It really is about knowing each other. Now we really do celebrate each other’s strengths and complement each other’s weaknesses.
- Respect on a day-to-day basis is the key. Thanks.
- We enjoyed this coaching process. You are right; the choice to make changes is up to us. You know that we made the commitment to work on our relationship. This is just a note to say thanks.
- You were right, we were OK, now we are better.
COMMENTS FROM FAMILIES
Your sense of dedication and compassion in your work, and in that of your staff, is very evident and clearly benefits the children and parents involved with Casey’s. The quality of the service, from your unique Family Reconstruction Program is consistently outstanding and appreciated by professionals who refer to you.
Pat and her staff have numerous attributes that make them unique as her focus is on family reconstruction and her background is in nursing.
Pat is an intelligent, kind hearted, eithical woman who shares those qualities with her staff so in turn they share them with families.
This letter is to express gratitude for the helping hand to my family. Had Casey’s not built its philosophy around “whole family healing” I don’t believe any of us would have achieved any results. As there is still much for the family to discover we now have a path to walk down. Casey’s motivates its clients to treat each other with dignity and respect. Thank you.
Casey’s seems to have the ability to take a very difficult situation and turn it into a positive experience.
COMMENTS FROM 'NATURAL PARENTS'
- “I love you Dad.” There was no mistaking the sincerity and love that poured out of my son when he said those words to me. I was deeply touched as I blinked away my tears of happiness and told him that I loved him too. As I drove away I recalled that it had not always been this way, Our home was in chaos, the kids were out of control and our oldest son seemed to get immense pleasure in keeping it that way. It got to the point that I didn’t even want to go home after work. At least at the office I had structure, I had control and at home I dreaded what awaited me. We were at the end of our rope. We tried counseling – for us and our son; we took parenting class after parenting class – nothing seemed to work. In a final attempt to save our family we sought out the direction and guidance of Pat Casey Jurgens. Through working with Pat we quickly realized that as individuals and parents we needed to go to work on ourselves first. How can you have a harmonious home when mom and dad are out of harmony? The garbage that we have carried with us for most of our lives needed to be dealt with first. So with hard work and Pat’s insight and experienced, guiding hand, we went through our reconstruction phases. We dealt with our past and became better individuals and better parents. Children are innately true and in this case our children had us pegged. What a wonderful gift our oldest son gave us when he challenged us and really forced us to examine ourselves first as individuals and then as parents. I can truly say we are a healthier, happier family today. Casey’s unique Living Wellness Reconstruction model and the natural parenting program have positively changed our lives. I now look forward to coming home from the office and sharing time with my wife and family.
- We wanted a healthier family. I never dreamed that we would grow to this level of parenting. It is truly a privilege to be a wellness parent.
- Because of their empathy, caring and involvement with our family’s total need, we have been able to enjoy life with our daughter.
- Thank you Pat. Without your help, I know my family would be in trouble. Your support and coaching helped us to be healthier, happier and more effective parents.
