SHIRLEY’S MIKEY
Mikey and I met when he was two days old.  To say we were instantly bonded may be far fetched, but Mikey and I started our journey in March, 12 years ago and he continues to be a constant source of pleasure.  Mikey could have been a German Shepherd puppy, I just thought he was gorgeous.  Luckily he was a Yorkshire Terrier, which fit much better into our family.  From the moment he opened his little eyes and toddled after me, all one pound of him was mine.  At five weeks he came to our home and has been part of our family ever since.  He has enjoyed being top dog {as only a terrier can be}.  Mikey was born on a farm.  He may look like a show dog but he is not.  He chased cows and horses, ran with a pack and bossed around dogs 10 times bigger then him.  This empowered his already grandiose terrier attitude.  Mikey’s walk makes the statement -- I am here and this is my world.  This dog has shared in every aspect of our busy family life.  He holidays, camps, skies and flies with us.  He has traveled more then most people have.  He is always at the door to great us and, although he is not a cuddly dog, he still shows our family unconditional love and loyalty.  His ability to understand us, his stubbornness, and his intelligence shines through his everyday actions.  He definitely has us all well trained.  Mikey takes us for walks, makes us laugh and has a calming, positive influence on our lives.  He has truly been a precious gift and has given us many special memories.
